Mulitfarious and extra IBGA's

Postby Scott Casteel » Wed Mar 17, 2010 9:41 pm

Quick question:

Mulitfarious states that it only applies if all downtime actions are using a different derived ability. Is that in regards to the first three downtime's only or is it including all downtimes. For instance Learned 1 gets an extra DT for Schoalrship, Merchantile, and Tinkering. Charisma 2 gets an extra DT for Performance or Diplomacy. If I have as DT's 1 Merch action, 1 Scholarship, and 1 Diplomacy and then add on an extra Scholarship and Diplomacy action would I loose the +1 bonus?

Thanks!

Do you mean to say that the bonus would apply to all of them or the proclusion?

IE in his example:
1 Merch action
1 Scholarship
1 Diplomacy
EXTRA 1 Scholarship

Would I get +1 or no +1

I interpret his answer(aka, not a real answer) to mean that all DT actions have to be different, even if they are added on over the regular 3 through some method.

All the skilled downtime actions you take have to be from different skills. The number of downtime slots you get, for whatever reason, have nothing to do with it.

Is it possible to "attempt" an action we have no actual skill in to utilize this advantage?

I.E.

I have scholarship and Mercantile and my down times look like this:

DT - 1 Research the Trees (scholarship)
DT - 2 Sell the wood (mercantile)
DT - 3 search for more trees (survival)

I'm not asking if or how likely that is to succeed, just if that is valid. Thanks!

I am pretty sure the description of mutifarious says that you do not have to use all of your available downtimes just that the ones you do use have to be different things. So if it isn't correct to use an unknown skill for the purposes of multifarious you could just not use the skill.

Yeah, you do not have to use all your actions. Now, in order for Multifarious to kick in, you must do 2 different skilled downtime actions, but need not do any more; just leave them blank or do actions unrelated to specific skills.
